Brann & Isaacson Files Cert. Petition in U.S. Supreme Court

On September 23, 2019, Brann & Isaacson partner David Swetnam–Burland filed a petition for a writ of certiorari with the United States Supreme Court as counsel of record in the case of PET, LLC v. CBF Associates, LLC. The petition seeks high court review of due process issues arising in a multi–million–dollar business dispute decided by Maine’s highest court. Swetnam–Burland has co–authored more than half a dozen amicus curiae briefs for leading national Internet retailers and others in high–profile intellectual property cases in the Supreme Court and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and has co–authored merits briefs and argued as lead counsel in the Federal Circuit.

Brann & Isaacson lawyers regularly handle appeals up to and including the U.S. Supreme Court. The firm’s lawyers have briefed and argued three cases in the U.S. Supreme Court, including two of the most important federalism and Commerce Clause cases in the last 25 years. B&I attorneys have handled over 50 appeals in all but one of the U.S. Courts of Appeals. The firm has handled over 100 appeals in at least 16 different States, from Maine to California.
