Eisenstein and Szal highlight key aspects of bankruptcy law as they relate to claims for state and local taxes; they argue that it is critical for state and local tax practitioners to become familiar with these elements of bankruptcy law in order to advise clients on how to emerge from bankruptcy without the looming burden of state and local tax claims.
