Peter Lowe and Hannah Wurgaft Address Kennebec Valley HR Association
B&I partner Peter Lowe and attorney Hannah Wurgaft offered an employment law update to the Kennebec Valley Human Resources Association on September 9, 2020. Entitled, “What’s New in Employment Law? A Practical Guide for Keeping HR Up to Date,” their presentation addressed the latest developments, including the landmark LGBTQ+ Supreme Court ruling; legal issues arising from telework; quarantine and testing employees during the pandemic; Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) leaves and back to school issues; managing politics in the workplace; the Maine Earned Paid Leave Act; and workplace marijuana issues, given the imminent retail sales of recreational marijuana.
