Peter Lowe Addresses Key Employment Law Concerns at Maine HR Convention

Partner Peter Lowe addressed the Maine HR Convention in two timely presentations this month. In a presentation called, “Investigations and Your Questions,” Lowe and Toby Tiner of L.L. Bean discussed how the mundane challenges of day-to-day work conflicts can blossom into investigations that can end up in court and in the news. They addressed best practices for fact-gathering, interviews, confidentiality, and balancing obligations to employees and employers.

In “Unscrambling Disability Issues in a Covid World,” Lowe and Peter Fitch of Lee Auto discussed how the pandemic has led everyone into conversations about disability issues. Their presentation focused closely on reasonable accommodations, employee fears, and medical confidentiality in dealing with COVID-19 issues, including issues raised by the increasingly widespread availability of effective vaccines.
