Peter Brann Speaks on Ranked Choice Voting

Partner Peter Brann spoke to the ACS (American Constitution Society) at Duke Law School about ranked-choice voting (RCV). He was joined in the presentation on “Ranked Choice Voting: Past, Present, and Future,” by Prof. David Kimball, a political scientist specializing in election law. Brann spoke about the legal challenges to RCV in Maine and elsewhere, and the future of RCV now that it has been adopted in Alaska and New York City. Brann, along with B&I colleagues Mike Carey and Eamonn Hart, successfully represented Rep. Jared Golden in the first congressional election that used RCV. Carey is counsel to Golden in his re-election effort, as well as Governor Janet Mills, in her re-election effort.
