Peter Brann Quoted in Wall Street Journal on ADA Website Suits

Brann & Isaacson lawyer Peter Brann was quoted in the Wall Street Journal in an article entitled “The Law Firm Hitting Businesses With Thousands of Disability Suits” (subscription may be required), about the most prolific filer of website accessibility lawsuits last year, the law firm Mizrahi Kroub. According to the reporting of the Wall Street Journal, Mizrahi Kroub filed over 1,100 website accessibility lawsuits last year alone.

The article describes Brann as “a lawyer who has defended businesses sued by Mizrahi Kroub,” and quotes him characterizing the nature of these lawsuits: “The demands are priced at less than it would cost to respond to the complaint. That’s the business model.”

“I hope as more articles like this appear,” stated Brann, “people will realize that these lawsuits have nothing to do with providing accessibility to disabled people, and everything to do with providing a quick payday to lawyers. I have not had a client yet who didn’t want to make their website accessible to everyone.”

Brann & Isaacson represents large and small internet and multichannel retailers in litigation around the country and in addressing the many legal issues that affect this industry.
