Mike Carey Confirmed to Maine Commission on Indigent Legal Services

On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, the Maine Senate unanimously confirmed Brann & Isaacson attorney Mike Carey to serve on the Maine Commission on Indigent Legal Services.  The Legislature established the Commission to meet the requirements of the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and the Maine Constitution to provide efficient, high-quality representation to indigent criminal defendants, juvenile defendants, parents in child protective cases, and people facing involuntary commitment to a psychiatric hospital.  Gov. Janet Mills nominated Mike to the Commission as a member with experience in administration and finance, based on his years of Legislative service on the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Appropriations and Financial Affairs.
