Hannah Wurgaft Featured in HR Daily Advisor Article on Equality Act

A February 24, 2021, article, “House Revives Equality Act: What Employers Need to Know,” published by HR Daily Advisor, featured a discussion by attorney Hannah Wurgaft on the potential impacts of the Equality Act, a federal bill which would  address discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. Wurgaft noted that the law, if passed, goes beyond the narrow language of the landmark Supreme Court opinion in Bostock v. Clayton. She further noted that passage would have little effect on businesses in Maine, a state which has prohibited discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression since 2005, but would be a clear game-changer in states currently without such protections.
