B&I Lawyers Address Maine State Bar Association Conference on Probate Litigation, Cybersecurity

B&I attorneys Ben Lund, Dan Nuzzi, and Eamonn Hart recently made presentations on emerging legal issues at the Maine State Bar Association’s 2025 Winter Bar Conference.

In their panel, “Litigating Wills, Trusts and Other Probate Disputes,” Nuzzi and Hart drew on their experience, including recent successes in the Law Court, to offer insights into the key legal and practical distinctions between probate court litigation and superior court litigation, including choice of forum, jurisdictional issues, and procedural differences between the two courts.

Lund joined a panel on the real and present threat cybercrime poses Maine lawyers and law firms, “Cybersecurity: Ethical and Practical Considerations.” Against the backdrop of Ethics Opinion #220, “Cyberattack and Data Breach: The Ethics of Prevention and Response,” Lund discussed real-world examples of attempted cybercrime, offering insights on technology choices, available cybersecurity training, and the importance of cybersecurity insurance, particularly for solo practitioners and small law firms that must often rely on third-party consultants.
