ATTORNEY BIOGRAPHY

David Swetnam–Burland is a partner whose practice focuses on the representation of direct marketing and e–commerce companies, both large and small, in litigation. He has represented clients in intellectual property litigation (patent, trademark, trade dress, and copyright) in federal district and appellate courts throughout the country, from Maine to California with stops in Ohio, Indiana, Texas, and Washington along the way. He has represented clients in administrative proceedings and litigation against state revenue departments in, among other states, New York, Maryland, Tennessee, Illinois, Iowa, and Washington. He is a member of Brann & Isaacson’s award–winning team of lawyers who represent the Natural Resources Council of Maine in its efforts to clean up the Androscoggin River, which flows just outside the firm’s Lewiston office.

David is a co-author of 'Eyes on IP,' a blog that reports on developments in intellectual property law as they affect the business community.
